Minister of Foreign Employment Thalatha Athukorala has demanded Rs 425 million as damages from UPFA MP Niroshan Premaratne for the alleged damages to her reputation and good name caused by a statement he gave to the media.

Premaratne allegedly told a newspaper that the minister wrongfully earned Rs 1500 million through an insurance scheme for workers in foreign countries.

Athukorala demands that Premaratne pay the damages within 14 days.
