A slight change in prevailing dry and cold weather is expected during the next few days, particularly from 20th January, the Department of Meteorology said.

Until then mainly fair weather is expected to continue over most parts of the island.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places of the island during the morning particularly in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Central provinces.

Fairly strong winds can be expected at times over Southern half of the country.
