Hydro power generation has dropped to around 15 percent of its capacity since water levels in the reservoirs in upcountry are falling drastically.

The water levels have come to around 34 percent of the total capacity, Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy said.

Therefore there is a likelihood of power cuts if the situation does not improve.
