A separate cell in Ward E of the Colombo remand prison has been allocated for National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa, as a security measure.

There are around 50 inmates at the E Ward in total.

The cell allocated for Weerawansa is the same cell alocated for both Namal Rajapaksa and Udaya Gammanpila when they were remanded.

Weerawansa was remanded till January 24 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday, for the alleged misuse of state vehicles.
