UPFA MP Vidura Wickramanayake recently stated that he was considering to retire from politics.
He remarked that he was disappointed in politics as politicians were merely increasing their benefits while adding pressure to the public.
Wickramanayake pointed out that he was not living off his salary as a MP. He uses it for a few scholarships, the MP added.
He added that his father advised him not to live off politics. It is not correct to switch sides for money and other perks, he added.
