Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that he is not a back stabber to topple the government in the absence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
He stated this yesterday responding to Prime Minister Wickremesinghe’s comment on that he was going to Switzerland later this month which former President could make use to try to topple the government.
He pointed out that "I do not need to wait till Wickremesinghe leaves the country to effect a regime change. It is my plan to do so while he is in Sri Lanka" .
Former President Rajapaksa noted that the day would not be too far off when the group of rogues guarding the current regime turned against it.
"Everybody has now realised the grievous mistake they committed by helping the UNP capture power," he added.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa expressed his ambition to topple the incumbent government last month.
