Chandima Weerakkody, Minister of Petroleum and Gas stated that Ceylon Electricity Board will be provided with all essential support to continue supplying power to the country, despite the power shortages predicted this year due to severe droughts.

Minister Weerakkody further noted that, the program carried out by the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy to provide uninterrupted power supply to the general public during the drought season will be supported by the Ministry of Petroleum and Gas.

Minister made this statement during a media briefing at the Ministry of Petroleum and Gas.
