The All Island Lottery Agents' Association launched a protest near the Colombo Fort Railway Station against the price hike of the lottery tickets introduced by the government.

They say that the government should either withdraw the increase of lottery prices or it should increase the commission paid to the agents and the prizes handed out to the public.

They have also stopped selling lottery tickets.

The Finance Minister earlier vowed to use different people as agents if the agents stopped selling tickets.
