The government has permitted a passenger ship to travel from North to South India for the first time in 32 years following a request by the Governor of the Northern Province Reginald Cooray.
The passenger ship will travel from today between the country’s North to South India.
This service is made available for ten days from today to the 12th of January for pilgrims participating in a Hindu religious festival in South India.
The Sri Lanka Navy and the Ministry of Defense have approved the request.
