Former Mayor of Colombo A.J.M. Muzammil is to assumed duties as Sri Lanka’s new High Commissioner to Malaysia.

will take over the reins from Sri Lanka’s current High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ibrahim Sahib Ansar. 

High Commissioner Ansar was assaulted at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport by a gang belonging to the “We Tamils Party”. 

It was said in protest of former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who attended a conference there.

Muzammilwill officially take office in the position from February 02, 2017.   

Former Colombo Mayor was seen tagging with president in his resent Malasian tour.
