James Dauris, British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka states that, as the UK exits the relationship with the EU, long-established friends like Sri Lanka will become more important to the UK.

He mentions this in his Christmas and New Year Message to Sri Lanka.

He said British Companies have made more exciting investments, creating jobs and showing how well Sri Lanka can perform in hi-tec global industries during the past year.

Reflecting on the relations between Sri Lanka and the UK, it has encouraged all communities in Sri Lanka to work in unity in order to achieve reconciliation, he pointed out.

The High Commissioner  further said reconciliation will ensure confidence and trust that will help to bring sustained and enduring peace and prosperity to Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankans.
