The FCID said in court today that they will file a separate case against former Ambassador to the US Jaliya Wickramasuriya, for the payment of medical bills of former Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne through the Sri Lankan Embassy in the USA.

This was told today when the magisterial inquiry on the financial misappropriation of US $ 330,000 was taken up at the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.

The FCID said that the complaint filed by the BOI Chairman Upul Jayasuriya has mentioned the payment of medical bills as an additional fact. However, when it was mentioned in the court, Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne observed that it is a completely different case than the incident currently being investigated.

Noting this, the FCID said that they will file a separate case.
