Minister John Amaratunga, who became known for some controversial statements in the last few months, recently gave a description of UNP's election campaigning for the upcoming Local Government polls.

Declaring that the UNP is prepared for the election at any time, Amaratunga said that the electoral level party members are currently being registered. Meanwhile, the school children of the electorates across the country are being given school bags, books and other gifts, Amaratunga said.

He added that people should be treated well to obtain their votes and his party was doing it across the island.
