Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna former local government representatives are meeting tomorrow at the office of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Battaramulla to review their progress in preparation to the local government polls.
The Sri Lanka Freedom Party said that the election, which has been delayed, will be held by June next year.
President Sirisena recently met with electoral organizers of the party for a two and a half hour meeting in preparation for the election. The SLFP later said that they will be facing the election under the new electoral system. The reorganization of the party will be completed early next year, the party said.
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has been urging the government to hold the LG polls without delay.
