A stock of cigarettes illegally imported to Sri Lanka was discovered today in a container at the container yard at Orugodawatte by the Sri Lanka Customs.

The stock of cigarettes was hidden underneath mattresses, the Customs said.

The net value of the stock is estimated at Rs 70 million. These cigarettes have been imported from China.
