Postal workers who are on strike were seen playing cricket near the Hatton Post Office this morning.

Postal workers launched a strike with effect from midnight today over seven demands including the rectification of the recruitment and promotion process in the Postal Department. The workers say that the process has been haphazard since 2006.

The government cancelled all leave for the postal workers in an attempt to curb the strike. However, postal services were crippled across the country owing to the strike.
