Former Kaduwela Mayor G.H. Buddhadasa challenged UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa to contest in the forthcoming Local Government Election for the post of Mayor of Kaduwela.

Buddhadhasa said that he was prepared to face the election at any moment, and said that Weerawansa can resign from Parliament and contest for the election against him.

"They can form the front they are going to form and contest against us," the former Mayor said.

Weerawansa's National Freedom Front is among the political parties which are currently engaged in discussions to form a new political front.
