A cold war has started between six UPFA members of the Western Provincial Council for Western Provincial Ministry of Health and several other portfolios, political sources said.

These portfolios were taken over by Chief Minister Isura Devapriya from former Western Provincial Council Minister Nishantha Warnasinghe recently.

Several senior council members are fighting for the portfolios, sources said.

Some Provincial Councilors are pushing forward an argument that the Minister should be chosen from Gampaha District. Warnasinghe is a PC member of Kalutara District.

A decision is expected to be taken over the issue after discussions with President Maithripala Sirisena.
