Although new political parties and committees were formed, Tamil people’s trust on Tamil National Alliance will remain firm, leader of the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi Mavai Senathirajah said.
Responding to a question asked by journalists, he said that newly established parties in North cannot survive without the support of Tamil National Alliance (TNA).
Senathirajah further said that even though various political parties and commissions were formed in North over the past, they did not last for more than a few months. Senathirajah’s comments were directed at the recently formed Tamil People’s Council (TPC) led by Northern Province Chief Minister CV Wigneswaran.
ITAK is the largest constituent of the TNA. However, Suresh Premachandran, leader of the EPRLF, is also a member of the TPC. EPRLF remains a member of the TNA.
