Five persons have died and 22 have been injured in an accident of a bus and van in Dummaladeniya, Warakapola, Police reported a short while ago.

One male, three females and an infant are among the dead.

Persons who were travelling in the van said to be a group from Samanturei, who were going to the Department of Immigration and Emigration.

Injured have been admitted to hospitals in Warakapola, Kegalle, and Watupitiwala.
