Police have launched an investigation on the assault of Satyagraha campaigners at Meetotamulla on Sunday night.

The Satyagraha was launched on Sunday evening, following a protest against the Meetotamulla garbage dump earlier in the day. The protesters launched the Satyagraha since the authorities could not provide satisfactory solutions to their grievances.

Protesters allege that the Kolonnawa Urban Council Chairman assaulted them. However, the Kolonnawa UC Chairman refutes the allegation.

Six people were injured due to the clashes.
