Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi leader Mavai Senathirajah refused a request by former TNA MP Suresh Premachandran, saying that the ITAK would never join the Tamil People’s Council established by Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran.

Premachandran made this request yesterday while taking part in the second meeting of the TPC at the Jaffna Library Auditorium.

Senathirajah, who is also the Deputy Leader of the TNA, said that he would not join with TPC since the Tamil National Alliance was seeking solutions for Tamil people’s issues for a long time. He rejected the need of another organization to look into the matters of the Tamil people.

Senathirajah also said that he would be observing the developments regarding the TPC closely.
