President Maithripala Sirisena said that the tenure of local Government bodies which were not dissolved will be extended by 6 months.

President stated this during an event at President’s College Rajagiriya today, organized by the Mayor of Kotte Janaka Ranawaka.

He also stated that the decision was made after holding discussions with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
