Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare S. B. Dissanayake said that around 15 MPs of the joint opposition had discussed to join the government.
Speaking to vernacular media, he said that there were MPs who had already agreed to join the government from the joint opposition, though they would not get positions.
Dissanayake stated that 6 of the MPs would be given positions in the government.
“Some groups were trying to divide us and build alternative teams. UPFA and SLFP are defeating them together. Another group would join the government soon, and strengthen the SLFP and UPFA”, Dissanayake added.
