Saudi Arabia government responded positively to the Sri Lankan government's appeal regarding the woman to be stoned to death and agreed to reduce the sentence to imprisonment, Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva said.

He made this revelation addressing a press conference this afternoon.

Foreign Employment Minister Thalatha Athukorala also attended the press conference.
