Minister of Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs MHA Haleem claimed that the individual arrested over the smuggling of gold yesterday was not one of his Coordinating Secretaries.

Speaking to media in Kandy yesterday, he said that the arrested individual had somehow obtained a Ministry ID in a fraudulent manner.

This person was arrested by the Customs in the early hours of yesterday at the Bandaranaike International Airport, when he tried to smuggle in gold worth Rs. 2 million.
