The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna will hold a rally on 8th January 2016, in protest against the 'Good Governance Government', coinciding with its first anniversary. 

This decision was taken by the JVP Politburo during its meeting on December 16 at the party headquarters in Pelawatta. 

Several JVP stalwarts reportedly expressed their dissatisfaction at the government for some of its policies.

JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva reportedly suggested that JVP organize a rally in Nugegoda against the ‘yahapaalana’ government, on its 1st anniversary on 8th January.

The Politburo decided to appoint JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath to organize the rally.
