Black Money:Lalu Says Modi Deceiving People

November 17, 2014
RJD chief Lalu Prasad said on Sunday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling his promise to bring black money back within a month of his coming to power.

"Modi has deceived the country. He now says that he does not know whether the total amount is Rs 2 Rs 5 or Rs 1 billion, but he says we will definitely bring it back. What will he bring back when he does not know how much is stashed in foreign banks," said Lalu.

The RJD boss will start campaigning in poll-bound Jharkhand from Monday. RJD is contesting 18 seats in alliance with Congress and JD (U) in the state where first phase of polls will be held on November 25.

"Modi had promised to bring the money back in one month. Even after six months, he is clueless about it. Baba Ramdev has gone into hiding. In one of my latest tweets, I asked Baba Ramdev to help Modi," said Lalu mocking Ramdev's campaign against black money before the Modi government came to power at the Centre.

"They had told people that Rs 26 lakh crore is stashed in foreign banks and Rs 15lakh will be deposited in the account of every citizen within one month. Has anyone got anything? People should ask Modi when he will give them Rs 15 lakh," he added.

The former Bhihar chief minister said he has asked his men to arrange small bags and fill them with potatoes, tomatoes and rice as he has planned to carry the bags around with him to every political rally in Jharkhand.

"I will move around Jharkhand with these bags and ask people at what rate they buy these articles now. Prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed even as rate of crude oil in the international market has gone down," said Lalu, who will address three back to back rallies in Palamu division on Monday.

"Modi has spread the net and wants to trap people of Jharkhand," said Lalu and criticized Modi's Ganga cleaning and his Clean India campaign, India's relations with Pakistan and China and claimed Modi's popularity shows in America was stage-managed.
