The 39th Annual General Meeting of the PATA Sri Lanka Chapter was held on the 22nd August, 2014 at Hotel TajSamudra, Colombo. The Sri Lanka Chapter enables its members to conduct their various assigned responsibilities for selling travel related products and providing services to visitors to the island in a more effective manner.
The key aim is to promote Sri Lanka as a PATA destination, under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
Ruan Samarasinghe, Managing Director of Jetwing Hotels was elected as the Chairman of the Chapter for the year 2014/2015. Hussain Jayah, Head of Marketing and Sales of Aitken Spence Hotels and Denesh Silva, Director, Amaya Leisure PLC were elected as Vice Chairman.

Lalith Rodrigo, Director of Galle Face Hotels Limited, Jayantha Panabokke, Managing Director of Mahaweli Reach Hotels Limited, Devan De Mel, Chairman/ Managing Director of Quickshaws Tours Ltd, Ratten Abdulhussein, Director of Pan Lanka Travels & Tours Ltd, Zahara Cader, Managing Director of Tallman Tours Ltd, Sega Nagendra, Director of Travel On Ltd, Muaiyyed Idroos- Executive Director, World Avenues (Pvt) Ltd, Prabath Harshakumar; Head of Business Development for ASIA region of Walkers Tours Limited and Assistant Vice- President of John Keells Group and Shamali De Vaz, Managing Director of Silver Line Tours (Pvt) Ltd as the Immediate Past President.
Kumudu Hennidege, Manager- Marketing & Promotions of Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Malraj Kiriella, Director- International Affairs & Research of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and representatives from Civil Aviation Authority and Sri Lankan Airlines will be joining in as ex-officio capacity.
Membership of the Chapter consists of 65 local members, comprising travel agents, tour operators, sightseeing operators, ground/water transportation operators and hoteliers whose businesses are situated within the geographical area of Sri Lanka.
