HNB Assurance won a top award for Digital Marketing Excellence under the sub-categoy 'Best use of Facebook' at the fifth CMO Asia Awards Social Media and Digital Marketing Excellence Awards held at Pan Pacific hotel, Singapore recently.
HNB Assurance won this award for its enhanced activations on digital media particularly its strong presence on Facebook, becoming the only insurance company in Sri Lanka to have won this award.
HNB Assurance Managing Director Manjula de Silva said social media now plays a key role in marketing and advertising.
"Since most Global brands are highly active in this sphere, we too have built a strong brand presence on Social Media. Our Facebook page currently has received the admiration of more than 86,000 fans as at end July 2014 and through this page we regularly conduct various interactive games and competitions, which have been well-received. We have also embarked upon various brand awareness campaigns using the web, and through theYouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn," he said.
Head of Marketing at HNB Assurance Dilshan Perera said "Customer engagement is the key to our success. When you start participating in a conversation, you need to speak to the overall market and take part with helpful, quality content so that your audience will share the experience they have with your company with others online.
Building these relationships with customers and market conversation influences will help our online presence evolve positively and organically," he said.
