The Seafood Exporters Association of Sri Lanka has decided to invest in 500 hectares of Nayattuweli Aquaculture Park proposed to be established this year.
Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development having discussed with the local business community on 12th June, made a request to invest in fish breeding of this proposed Aquaculture Center which totally covers an area of 4000 acres.
The Seafood Exporters Association of Sri Lanka expressed their consent to utilize 500 acres of the said Aquaculture Park. Under the Government’s current programme of increasing the fish production by 100%, it is expected to open the completed Batticaloa Aquaculture Park on the 29th of this month.
