Rishad Bathiudeen, Industry and Commerce Minister stated that the owners of companies will have an opportunity to register their business on-line from next year.
Thus, Sri Lanka's Department of the Registrar of Companies (DRC) has signed a deal with audit firm KPMG to automate company registrations.The ‘eROC’ project will cost Rs 57 million and is funded by the Companies Fund of the Department .
D. N. R. Siriwardena, Registrar General of Companies noted that “The main objective is to reduce unnecessary time consuming paperwork and help more startup registration as well as to speed up the process”.
The eROC envisions the entire company registration process done by DRC-currently.
