BCF Technology Donates Equipment To Assist Stray Dog Charity In Sri Lanka

February 10, 2017

BCF Technology has provided an ultrasound machine to WEcare Worldwide, an animal health charity that is seeking to provide veterinary care for stray dogs in Sri Lanka.

Founded by British vet Janey Lowes in 2014, the organisation is dedicated to offering veterinary care for underprivileged animals around the world, starting in Sri Lanka. The charity has attracted significant coverage since its foundation.

The ultrasound machine provided by BCF Technology will be used to treat animals in the south of Sri Lanka, a country where there are only two other scanners of this type in operation nationwide.

This will allow Ms Lowes to offer the option of diagnostic imaging to more than 100,000 dogs, greatly improving the standard of treatment her organisation can provide. The scanner was provided around three months ago, since which time Ms Lowes has been working to raise enough funds to ship it to Sri Lanka as part of a container of materials.

BCF managing director Gavin Mitchell said the company is "delighted to hear that the container is now scheduled to leave the UK, and we are sure the imaging equipment will be a great help".
