CIC Holdings PLC has named leading President’s Counsel Harsha Amarasekera as its new Chairman, succeeding Lakshman Fernando after his twenty-six-year tenure.

A non-executive Director of CIC Holdings PLC since 2005, Harsha Amarasekera PC was serving as Acting Chairman of the Board since January 1/2014 following the retirement of Lakshman Fernando on the December 31/ 2013.

Amarasekera will be the Fourth Chairman of the Diversified Agriculture/Chemical company which is considered as one of the leading agricultural value addition companies in the country. The company also went through a major restructuring last year.

Amarasekera’s appointment is effective today.
