Dr. Sunil Jayantha Nawaratne, Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education  has joined the Board of Hayleys MGT Knitting Mills Plc as a Non Executive Director.

Dr.Navarathna holds a B.Sc (Business Administration) degree from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, an MA (Economics) from the Kagawa University, Japan, and a PhD in Management from the Keio University, Tokyo, Japan.

He has also served as Director, Human Capital, Youth Development and Rural Networks of Cargills (Ceylon) Plc, Director General/Chairman of the National Youth Services Council, Sri Lanka (NYSC), Secretary, Ministry of Samurdhi, Director General, Samurdhi Authority, Chairman, Centre for Strategic Management and also as an Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.

Hayleys MGT also announced that J.A.S. Piyawardena, an Independent Non Executive Director of the company, resigned from the Board with effect from 25 April. (Government Info)
