A stricken cargo ship is heading towards the French coast, maritime authorities say, but there are hopes it can be righted before it runs aground.
The ship, which is carrying 3,600 tonnes of timber and digging machines, is now listing at an angle of between 40 and 50 degrees.

The construction work of the New Manning Market Complex at Peliyagoda was inaugurated today under the aegis of Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka. The market complex is constructed in a 25 acre land belonging to the Urban Development Authority. The complex is estimated to cost Rs 4 billion.
