A shooting occurred early this morning at the Ratmalana railway yard in Mount Lavinia. Police reported that five suspects attempted to steal property from the facility and assaulted railway security officers.

During the altercation, a railway security officer fired a shot, injuring one suspect. One security officer was also injured in the attack. Both individuals have been admitted to Kalubowila Hospital for treatment. The other suspects fled the scene and are currently at large, leading to an active police investigation.
