Mannar Magistrate Court today extended the remand of 36 fishermen Tamil Nadu, arrested by the Navy while fishing near Kachchatheevu on different dates, to October 7.

Mannar Judicial Magistrate Aanandhi Kanagarathinam extended the remand of the fishermen, arrested on charges of violating International Maritime Boundary Line, till October 7, S Emerit, President, Rameswaram Fishermen Organisation, has told Indian media.

While 30 fishermen were arrested on September 11, the rest were arrested on September 9.
