Hospitals and health institutions across the North-Western Province have been impacted by a strike initiated by 72 health sector trade unions.
The strike, running from 8 am to 12 pm today, aims to address grievances regarding the issuance of circulars related to increased allowances and the inclusion of 15 health sector groups in special allowance increments.
Co-Convener of the Health Trade Union Alliance, Chanaka Dharmawickrama, emphasized the urgency of these demands.
This action follows a similar strike launched on May 9th in the North-Central Province.
