Visiting US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu, held discussions with Sri Lanka's Opposition representatives.
The meeting, which included Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and key members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), focused on the ongoing partnership between Sri Lanka and the United States.
The presence of dissident Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna member G L Peiris added an intriguing dynamic to the discussion.
Lu's engagement extended beyond the Opposition, as he met with representatives from the National People’s Power (NPP) to delve into various issues, including the economy, the IMF program, electoral integrity, and security dynamics in the Indian Ocean region.
