One supporter of the National's Peoples Power Party has died after being injured in yesterday's protest. The Police cracked down on the protestors and used tear gas as well as water cannons to disperse them. The deceased has been identified as Nimal, a resident of Ratnapura. He had passed away while receiving treatment in the ICU at the National Hospital. The NPP held the protest calling for the Government to hold elections as scheduled.
