UNP Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake has indicated that he would make a 'serious' political decision after the Uva Provincial Election which will take place on September 20.
When asked about the move by a prominent English daily, Karunanayake had said that he could only speak about it after the Provincial Council election.
Karunanayake had recently criticized several people including Malik Samarawickrema and Tiran Alles for spreading rumors about him and other UNP members who, according to him, had strived to protect the party.
During the 68 th UNP Convention in Passara, Karunanayake left the stage as National Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe arrived. Meanwhile other UNP Parliamentarians such as Mangala Samaraweera, Palith Range Bandara and Buddhika Pathirana also skipped the meeting.
Karunanayake had expressed displeasure over appointing Sajith Premadasa to a leading position in the party. There were speculations that Karunanayake would join the government if the party appointed Premadasa as the Deputy Leader of the party.
