The Japanese envoy to Sri Lanka led by Japan’s Prime Minister Shinso Abe is expected to arrive in Katunayake airport tomorrow (7).
The Japanese Prime Minister is conducting this tour with the intension of further strengthening of trade ties with the South Asian region. Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa invited the Japanese Prime Minister to visit Sri Lanka during his tour of South Asia.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa himself is expected to welcome the Japanese envoy at the Katunayake airport tomorrow. The construction of the new wing in the Bandaranaike International Airport will commence tomorrow parallel to the visit.
The envoy is to discuss the steps that will be taken to strengthen the trade relations with Sri Lanka and to establish more investment opportunities for the business sector of the two countries.
The Japanese envoy will be also visiting Bangladesh during the South Asian tour.
