The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, in association with SriLankan Airlines, on Wednesday organised a roadshow in Bengaluru.
“Although not a new market, the potential of this market (Bengaluru/Karnataka) is not fully exploited, particularly the high-end market,” said M K Pathmanaathan, Acting Deputy High Commissioner.
Sri Lanka currently seeks to promote its ‘Ramayana Trail’ as a tourist attraction, alongside its long standing attractions such as wildlife, adventure, and heritage. The trail consists of 50 identified spots in Sri Lanka that are of significance in the Ramayana.
“The Ramayana trail is the new and emerging market segment,” said Indrajith De Silva, Director, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.
