Simatech Shipping, a pioneer in feeder service in the Gulf, the Indian sub-continent, Far East and East Africa, has now extended its existing CCG (Chennai Colombo Gulf) service to Visakhapatnam, offering direct connectivity to Colombo, Cochin, Jebel Ali and Sohar.
Having considered the developments in Visakhapatnam and its future prospects, Simatech, after its successful stint in Chennai, is confident of repeating the success story in the Port City too. With the addition of Simatech service, Visakhapatnam now has the unique distinction of having all the prominent feeder operators deploying their weekly services connecting Colombo, Singapore and Jebel Ali.
The service will utilise four 2,000 TEU container ships with three vessels deployed by Simatech and the remaining one operated by Evergreen Line. The weekly service will be operated on a fixed day basis, Tuesdays at Visakhapatnam Container Terminal.
The CCG is a unique service offering direct connectivity to Sohar besides Jebel Ali.
The maiden call of the service was made by Evergreen vessel last week and mv Taroko, the Simatech vessel, called at Visakha Container Terminal Tuesday. Sima Marine (India) Private Limited director Hilton Mike personally graced the occasion to commemorate the maiden voyage of Simatech at VCTPL. The service from Visakhapatnam will provide the shipping lines an additional option of connecting Colombo for their West-bound cargos which is presently catered by the lone feeder service from Visakhapatnam.
