A Night Bazar has been opened near Nuwara-Wewa in Anuradhapura with the aim of providing a better market place for the produce in the area and to develop the tourism industry.

The Nigh Bazar is in operation at the Tourist Information Centre premises near the Nuwara-wewa on every Saturday and includes trade stalls, local food stalls, new produce and variety entertainments.

The programme is jointly implemented by North Central Tourism Ministry and the Chamber of Commerce. Chief Secretary of North Central Province H.M.R.B. Herath and Chairperson of the Anuradhapura District Chamber of Commerce Shanthi Liyanage were present at the opening ceremony.
