A small step goes a long way – or so they say…
The Leo club of Moratuwa, which is well known for its continuous commitment towards serving the less privileged, has yet again taken the initiative to deliver hope, by donating 1000 King Coconuts to the patients at the Cancer Hospital, Maharagama.
King Coconuts are said to be a natural medicine for cancer, and this is yet another one of their many social projects that has impacted the well-being of the society and the environment, along with initiatives such as beach cleaning, cleaning of the Lunawa walking path, programs to uplift the living standards of the children in the mentally handicapped girls’ school – Katukurunda, and donating stationery to underprivileged students for the academic year 2015.
Setting claim to a proud history of 35 long and successful years, the Leo club of Moratuwa is presently led by a group of young and energetic individuals who are passionate about making a change. Operating under its parent club, the Lions club of Moratuwa, this is a leading entity in district 306 A1.
The Leo club of Moratuwa invites all interested clubs, individuals and societies to join hands with them on the Friday, 17th of April from 9 am onwards at the Maharagama Cancer Hospital premises, for this worthy cause of delivering hope.
