So now Facebook appears to be following Snapchat's lead by letting you add filters to your videos on Facebook Live.
The feature is currently being tested out and was demonstrated on stage at the WSJD Live conference by Chris Cox, Facebook's chief product officer. He took a video of the audience at an event in California and applied a cool, Van Gogh-style filter.

According to Quartz , the feature is still in beta, but could roll out to users soon. Unfortunately, we've got no idea of exactly when that will be.
From the looks of it though, anyone who's had a go with arty app Prisma will immediately feel at home with it.
Facebook Live meanwhile is continuing to be a focus for the big blue social network. It's been gaining momentum for most of the year as Facebook looks to position itself as a master of video.
That might have something to do with the acceleration of virtual reality and Mark Zuckerberg's recent commitment to the Oculus Rift research.
And, if you were in any doubt about the number of people that still use Facebook, chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg confirmed that over 1.7 billion people use the social network every month.
