Second Luxury Anantara Opens In Sri Lanka

CEO, Minor Hotels, Dillip Rajakarier stated: “We are excited to open Anantara Kalutara, our second luxury Anantara resort in Sri Lanka. With its unique ocean and river front location and its original design by famed Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, we are confident that Anantara Kalutara will become one of the ‘must stay’ luxury properties for discerning travellers visiting the island, along with the now well established Anantara Tangalle on the south coast.”

The resort’s 141 guest rooms, suites and pool villas grant guests breath-taking views, with private balconies and terraces overlooking lush gardens, the ocean or the lagoon. Facilities include The Watersports Centre, offering jet skiing, water skiing and banana rides; a gym; two swimming pools; a library; the two-storey Anantara Spa with 10 treatment rooms; the Adventurer Club for youngsters offering cultural activities, outdoor games and action-packed excursions; and three restaurants.

The resort will also be an ideal setting for meetings and events, with an impressive conference centre equipped accommodate 500 delegates and up to 300 banquet-style, opening in March 2017. There are a further three meeting rooms.

Adding to this, an SUV limousine service is available for journeys between Anantara Kalutara and Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport, while Kalutara South Station is just five minutes away.

Anantara Kalutara Resort joins Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort, which opened in January 2016.
