The World Tourism Day falls today. Its theme for this year is ‘Tourism for All – Promoting Universal Accessibility’. The main ceremony to mark the day will be held at the auditorium of the Sri Lanka Tourism and Hotel Management Institute this morning. Minister John Amaratunga and Deputy Minister Arundika Fernando will be the chief guests of the occasion. The ministry of Tourism and Christian Affairs and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority will jointly organize the event.
In parallel to this ceremony a seminar will be held at the BMICH tomorrow under the theme of "Universal access to Tourism". It will be organized by the University of Colombo and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. In addition various programmes will be held to mark the
World Tourism Day.
